We stop here a couple of times a month and have almost always had wonderful service and food. The last time we were there, the gal that waited on us had never made the ciabatta sandwich my husband ordered. She was up front about her inexperience and was very polite. I think sometimes they are understaffed as we have been there when there is only one person behind the counter, but we are always greeted with a friendly hello. A few months ago I watched a man go off on the manager because he wouldn't take his $100.00 bill, trying to turn it into a race thing and throwing racial slurs at the manager (the manager was black, the customer was white). He handled it with a calm grace that was incredibly impressive.

If you like zero sense of urgency and workers that run their mouth for no reason, this is the subway for you. Waited 15 minutes for my sub with one person in front of me while their employee pestered me with nonsense. I ordered the same sub as my brother and this employee had the nerve to say "I see who the leader and the follower is" while half-assed making our sandwiches. Then instead of ringing us out at the cash register, I watched him completely redo his hair (which probably should have been in a hair net) causing us to stay way longer than needed. I actually was hoping to find a hair in my food just to give me a good enough reason to go back and bitch up a storm.

Terrible experience.  This was my first time (and last) to come to this Subway.  Ordered online and went to pick up.  First thing I notice as I pull up is how filthy the pickup window glass is on the INSIDE.  It was so filthy it has a coating on it that gave it a hazy, foggy look.  Not a good sign. And this was only the pickup window.  I didn't even want to THINK about what the inside of this place must be like.
I ordered a chopped salad and a 12" sandwich.  Wasn't ready so I had to wait an extra 5 even though there were was only 1 customer ahead of me and none inside the store.  Finally get my order and the when I got it home I find that the salad bowl is about half of what I get at my favorite Subway even though I ordered "More" of this and that.  The sub sandwich was also VERY noticeably lean on vegetables.
And then the taste ... the salad tasted NOTHING like it should have.  Had sort of an old ... hell, I can't even describe it.  Pitched it.

    The sandwich was terrible too.

The employees weren't horrible but definitely not personable.

I would never return to this location again.

Been there a few times now, if you are a college student looking for a healthier place to eat it's the place to go. very close to campus and has a drive through!

This very well may be the worst Subway restaurant in the world.

I like Subway. But. The bread consistently has the texture and flavor of corrugated cardboard. Seriously, it's like they have never baked a fresh loaf of bread here. Ever.

In addition, there are a variety of homeless people who will haggle you for money if you get out of your car. Never fear! There's a handy-dandy drive-thru that only takes approximately 30 minutes to get through, even if you are the only car in line. This really doesn't stop the bum problem since I have had them come up to my passenger window and knock on it while I try to order my cardboard sandwich--I mean, sub. When you refuse to give them money, they will shout a variety of colorful language at you then probably throw something at your car. Of course, this is just a typical, happy part of living or working in downtown Akron.

Trying to get in and out of this place is also a disaster. The exit shoots you onto Exchange Street. If you want to go left, you have to jut across 5 lanes of traffic and pray to God no one turns right at the nearby side street before you make it out of the oncoming lane. If you want to go right, it's entirely possible that some idiot will try to turn into the one-way and kill you in a head-on collision.

The bottom line? There are lots of Subways in Akron, and most of them are good...but not this one. Period.
